Ever had a problem with Toys-R-Us selling unsupported products?
Bought my son a HOT WHEELS Turbo Tunnel for xmas, had a query so rang Mattel UK. They asked me where i purchased the item as it was discontinued nearly 3 years ago !!!!
AND…
Mattel never imported it into the UK market – So the mighty T-R-U are selling us Brits stuff from the states that they cant sell as there are no cars / parts available for it.
I am waiting for a response from the store manager as to whether i can swap it or get a credit note.
The Bit ch on Customer services on Sat said “It was not THEIR problem as the item is resaleable!”
I feel totally cheated and having spent in excess of £400 there this xmas.
Your thoughts on any recourse?
If your query was because of a fault you can make TRU take it back and get a refund.
If its just because you wanted other parts that you can’t get because of the Mattel reason, I’d take it up, by recorded delivery mail, with TRU’s head office.
How long ago did you buy it?
If its within 28 days they must give you a refund or credit note if you take it back and say its not suitable for what you bought it for.
The item is still on their website.
(For half price now… what a bummer!!!)
