Will my rat terrier get bigger?
Okay so my toy rat terrier Audrey is 7mos. 6.5 pounds. She’s such a sweetie.Well when I got Audrey I had her on low quality food since her owners had her low quality food. My poor puppy has had so many problems with food allergies that I have finally found a food SHE LOVES!! Halo. Well since putting her on this food with no wheat, no gluten and no corn she is doing extremely well. She also had to get a steroid shot for her allergies as well. I’ve noticed she is gaing some weight..which is good. When I first got her she was really skinny. But now she seems much happier. When I go to the pet store..I’ve run into a few people with rat terriers, but their dogs are much more stockier and biggeer. Does anyone know if toy rat terriers get bigger as they reach 1 year???? She’s starting to look really good..but I wish she would gain a little bit more weight.
This depends on what kind of rat-terrier you have. There are 3 sizes:
Standard: Height 14-23 inches (35½-58½ cm.)
Standard: Weight 12-35 pounds (5½-16 kg.)
Mid-sized: Height 8-14 inches (20-35½ cm.)
Mid-sized: Weight 6-8 pounds (3-3½ kg.)
Toy-Height: 8 inches (20 cm.)
Toy-Weight: 4-6 pounds (2-3 kg.)
