Here’s how to burn Nintendo Wii games on your computer

January 8th, 2009 by admin

As you know, the Wii is an incredibly fantastic system that gives you a truly unique method of gameplay.  It’s not surprising so many people want to make copies of their own Wii games to have backup discs to keep them from being damaged.

Even though Wii games come on a disc that looks just like music CDs, you can’t just copy them the same way you would burn a music disc.  There’s more to it than that.  Here’s a guide to tell you the basics of copying Wii games.

Your usual copying software can’t produce copies of games the same way you would burn a music disc.  Roxio, Nero, and other music copying programs can’t copy Wii games.  That’s because there’s encoded copy protection on the disk that blocks your computer from being able to read the disc.

As you might have guessed, it wasn’t long before someone came up with a workaround.  There are programs available that can bypass the copy protection that comes on a Wii disc.

When you have this type of program on your computer, copying a game is relatively easy - your computer is suddenly able to read the data that it coudn’t understand before.  This makes it possible to copy all games for all systems, including the PS3, Xbox 360, and of course the Nintendo Wii.

Once you have found and installed a game copying software to break the copyright guards, you’ll need to copy the data on your game as an image on your hard drive.  Afterwards, all you need to do is throw in a blank DVD or CD into your disc drive, then instruct the program to copy the game on the disc in your computer.

The copying programs that are out there make it possible to copy Wii games without having to do anything but click a few buttons. Now you know how to copy Wii games.  Enjoy!
