Christmas holiday with child in London?

I’m a single father, thinking of having Christmas holiday (few days) with my daughter (4yo) in London. Last year I went to London for one day for business trip (day trip from Paris) and thought of coming back. Had a thought one day to have Christmas in a place with great Christmas tradition/celebration like London, New York, etc.

How is London in Christmas? Any ideas and great places for child? How about big Christmas tree, toys shopping, park/children activities, etc?

BTW we live in Dubai, so London is just one hop of flight. I’m open also to other cities in Europe which offer better in terms of Christmas holiday/celebration with child.
Thanks for all the information. But one more thing. Do the shops/parks etc open on 24th-26th?

The world-famous Hamley’s giant toy shop in regent Street is a must for any 4 yr old at Christmas! The festive window displays, decorations, Christmas toys and meetings with santa Claus or father Christmas are very traditional and atmospheric. They also have special demonstrations of Christmas present toys at Christmas. Your 4 yr old will make you stay all day!

Also the window displays in Oxford Street and the light-ups at Trafalgar Square and Leicester square are a must. A London bus ride will save cold and tired feet!

The art galleries and museums sometimes have kids craft activities in the holidays too.
